Hello,
my name is Junebug and I am a Harlequin Rabbit. I love to play! In this
picture, I have jumped up in the crook of an old tree!
When I was young, my name was Popo, and my person was a little boy. We were
really good friends. I liked to hop on him while he did his school work and
played video games. It was important to make him smile, because he was sad a
lot. His mom and dad were getting a divorce. It wasn't until the day that they
left me at the pound and drove away that I realized that I was getting a
divorce too.
I was rescued by the House Rabbit Resource Network, a group of nice people who
help bunnies like me find new homes. It took awhile, but I finally found my
forever home! Now I have not one but two great people to hop on, and they make
sure that I get tons of hay, bunny food, and yummy treats like carrots,
celery, kale, and Italian parsley.
I live in the house, but during the day, unless it's too hot, I get to stay
out in the yard in my pen. But my absolute favorite thing to do is run loose
out of my pen! Woo hoo! Unfortunately, I only get to do it when my people are
there to supervise me. I don't know why they're such grannies -- I'm four
pounds of sheer toughness, can't you tell? When I'm out I love to run, leap,
dance, and tear around -- and climb a tree or two!
When my people come home from work (what's that?), I get to hop around the
kitchen table when they eat dinner and try to nibble their toes. Chewing is
another one of my passions and I especially like to curl up with a good book.
Yum!
In the evenings, I get petted and praised while I help my people relax and
watch TV. I also enjoy spending time with my straw mat. It's like a bed that
you can play with and eat too. Everyone should have one.
If you ever decide to get a bunny, please seek out your local rabbit rescue
group and give a bunny like me a second chance at love. Tell 'em Junebug sent
you!
