About Us
Lucy, the Pet of the Day
Name: Lucy
Age: Three years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Cornsnake
Home: Williamston, Michigan, USA

Lucy Inara is my Creamsicle Cornsnake.

I have always wanted a snake as a pet, but since my dad didn't care for them, I had to wait till I was on my own. Thankfully my husband was intrigued by the idea when I brought it up, and even helped pick her out! Lucy was purchased at NARBC in Chicago in 2006 from well known cornsnake breeder Kathy Love (who literally wrote the book on cornsnakes).

She was only four months old at the time and has been the perfect beginner snake. She's quite docile while handling and has never made a move to strike. She tolerates kids petting her and our other pets sniffing at her (under supervision of course).

Many people cringe when we tell them we own a snake, but once we show photos of her, the revulsion quickly turns to awe with compliments on her coloring.

We are always eager to share about Lucy Inara and she herself is a great teacher. Lucy is roughly three feet in length currently, but is not done growing. Once full grown, she'll be around five to six feet long. :)
