This
is Oupa Didi Gilbert, we call him Didi for short. Didi is a very special
bird. Didi has a wife her name is Liefie. He can say: "Hello Liefie" or "Hello
Oupa," and "Scratch my Head" (in afrikaans). He's impossible to resist when he
asks for head scratches! He also likes to sing a lot of songs when I play the
piano! You can also kiss his tummy and he won't bite you.
We got Didi in 2006 and his birthday is October 6, 2005. My parents bought
Didi in the market when he was four months old. When I spray him with water he
opens his wings like an umbrella! Didi loves to eat cookies, although we do
make sure he eats his bird food to get good nutrition and stay healthy - he'd
rather eat cookies all day! In his second picture, I caught him in the middle
of a grooming session - that's why there's that loose feather you can see!
Didi bites wood when he is stressed. Didi is not really my bird, he is my
sister's bird, but Didi is very special to my whole family! We love him.
