Thorn
is a pretty african pygmy hedgehog. They are not the same species as
the hedgehogs that are found in the wild in Great Britain, they are a
separate species, and have long been domesticated. She eats hedgehog food
(pellets) and sometimes gets mealworms as treat, which she enjoys.
Thorn is one of the two hedgehogs we have, they went from an adoption
center to a home, to another home, and then to our home! They were in a
cage of six hedgehogs! Being a solitary animal that should be kept alone,
that was not good! Consequently, she is the most bad-tempered, biting
hedgehog I have ever seen!
But we love her very much regardless of her biting problem! We are hoping
she will come around, now that she is in a better home, and has her own
space that she will feel more comfortable, and less defensive all the
time. She does enjoy her trips outside and wandering on the grass when the
weather is nice.
