I
would like to introduce my pet sheep Delanna. She is only eight months
old and is a Texel/Dorset cross. We both live on a farm in Dushore,
Pennsylvania. What makes Delanna special is her personality. Every
morning when I go out to the barn to feed and take care of her she is
always standing at her pen door waiting for me. When she hears me unlock
the barn door she lets out a single bleat that I swear sounds like
"mama". Every day I get Delanna out of her pasture to play and run with
me. We run up and down the dirt road and she knows she has to stay next
to me even though she could out run me. Delanna was also a winner at the
2008 Sullivan County Fair. She won third place overall for market lamb
and won first in the best looking and nicest animal contest. But best of
all, she is my friend.
