||Two years old|
my name is Shelby. I came into this world in a very bad way. My
momma was killed by a cat when my eyes weren't even open. I was scared,
cold, and alone. A real nice person found me and took me to an animal
hospital. At the hospital I was warmed up, given fluids, and much to my
stomach's relief, I was fed. I was taken home by my new momma two days
before Thanksgiving. I was warm and had a dry, safe place to sleep
every day. I was always being cleaned and had a very nice furry
creature to help watch out for my safety. On Thanksgiving Day my eyes
opened and for the first time I was able to see the world around me.
The fuzzy creature was a Redbone Coonhound named Avery. She watches out
for my safety. The momma I got to know looked a little different than
me, but I love her just like I would my very own momma. I am grown up
now. Funny how it turned out the worst day of my life actually turned
into the best day of my life.
I have tried many times to go back into the wild but it turns out that I
just feel better in my warm, fuzzy creature-filled home. I love nuts -
they are my favorite. My favorite game is running around jumping from
one piece of furniture to the other. And Avery is still my friend, and
watches out for me, even now that I am all grown up. Times are good, and
I like it here!
