Coconut
lives with me and my other birds in our home in Ronkonkoma, NY. I
adopted Coconut from my moms cousin Jimmy, he was dying of throat cancer
and couldn't give her as much attention. He gave her to me because he knew
that I could take care of her. She was a feather plucker and was missing
feathers on her legs, chest, and back. I took her home and she bonded to
me immediately. Now eighteen months later, the feathers have grown back
and she is still such a joy.
Her favorite activity is dancing, yes she dances. She will dance to any
song, and has her own style, she will also dance when she is taking a bath
in her water dish. If she sees someone new she walks around her cage
strutting, like she's all tough. She loves to go outside and play in our
peach trees, I'm there to supervise of course. She will also play catch
with you, she will throw a ball to you and you throw it back to her. She
is such a bundle of energy, always ready to play. Don't let that picture
fool you, she rarely stops moving. I love her so much she is such a joy in
my life now that I can't imagine it without her.
