Bob
is a Western Painted Turtle who lives in Missouri. We found Bob one
day when we were walking over our seven acres shortly after we moved
into our new house. He is only about the size of a dollar coin. How we
ever saw him is unbelievable. He is the perfect addition to our family.
He's actually pretty fast for a small turtle. You'd never guess that
from turtles' reputations, would you?
He loves to lounge on his rock and stretch his back legs out,
holding them up in the air. He also loves us to pet his head. When you
rub him on the top of his head he will stretch his neck way out. He
loves that. He's very gentle and loves to be hand fed. I hope to find
Bob a play mate this spring. We know that, especially given his small
size right now, he's better off away from predators he might encounter
in the wild. We hope to enjoy his company for many years to come. Bob is
the best pet ever.
