About Us
Cinnamon, the Pet of the Day
Name: Cinnamon
Age: Twenty years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Shetland pony
Home: Petersburg, New York, USA

Cinnamon is a Shetland pony, and he is twenty years old. He lives in Petersburg N.Y., that's upstate - not far from Vermont. When you say New York, people think of the city, but Cinnamon is a country boy!

We were given Cinnamon along with his brother Nutmeg - you can see him n the back - to hook up to a buggy. They are very lovable and sweet and Cinnamon will lick your face if you get too close, so visitors need to be warned - they'd don't expect that from a pony! I think Cinnamon is very handsome, he looks like a Palomino, but has his white "socks." His muzzle is very soft to pet, but if he licks you, his tongue is kind of scratchy!

I go outside every day to comb Cinnamon and Nutmeg and trim their manes when needed. You can see in this picture he is very furry - this picture was taken in March, so he still had his heavy winter coat. Now that summer has come, he is much sleeker - well, his coat is anyway. Shetland ponies in general aren't exactly built for speed.

The Main Reason we bought them was to hook them up to a buggy, but we still haven't done that yet. They are pets for now, not work ponies. Cinnamon is the best pet we have ever had (and Nutmeg, too) and we have had almost every pet imaginable. My family loves them both and so do I!
