Lelu, the Pet of the Day
Name: Lelu
Age: Six months old
Gender: Female
Kind: Ferret
Home: Madison, Tennessee, USA

I would like to honor my little ferret, LeLu, full name LeLu Ophelia Long, because she manages to bring a glint of humor into even the dullest of days.

She listens attentively for any slight rustle of her humans activities, although outside of her cage one can only assume that she is deaf. For LeLu, introduction into the area outside of the dreadful cage, brings only the inconceivable mayhem of curiosity. Her oblivion to harm is inspiring as, for examples, she makes leaps from couch to table only to latch on to a water cup. Needless to say, water went everywhere that time. For her age, which is six months, she is a saucy lass. Her apparent "selective deafness" brings shouts and a tap on the butt, which only likens the chance of being chased down the hallway by an arched back and tiny grunts as she performs her war dance. Insatiable curiosity brings her bad luck as she is inevitably put back in her cage, especially when she gets into trouble, but that's fine with her. She takes her vengeance through the clanging of her wire cage as she rattles it with her teeth.

With all this trouble, some people wouldn't bother with such a little brat, but she's like a child with adorable innocence of cause and effect. After all, at least I get all the giggles at her chance meetings with fate.
