This
is Rootie, he is a sable ferret. He is almost three years old, and is
our treasure! Rootie Lives in South Haven, Michigan, which is on the shores
of Lake Michigan. He likes to explore - and be a part of whatever we are
doing. You can see he was "helping" me at the sink in the small photo.
Rootie is like our child. He loves to visit the beach and will lay in front
of the door waiting and pouting until we give in, and off we go! It's so
fun to see him scamper across the sand leaving little ferret tracks as he
goes! He is so much fun. This picture was taken near dusk, and it is
surprising how well he was blending in with the sand in the fading light.
He loves to play and he has us laughing constantly. He does sometimes slow
down enough to collapse on a lap, and do his flat ferret impression.
Rootie is also a slipper thief. So our feet are always cold. But that's a
small price to play for the laughter and love he brings us every day in
return. (And besides, we found where he usually hides them, so our feet
don't need to stay cold for too long. But then the game begins again ...)
