About Us
Merri, the Pet of the Day
Name: Merri
Age: Two years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Guinea Pig
Home: Mahopac, New York, USA
This sweet little girl is Merri, named because she was adopted into our home just a few weeks before Christmas 2006. After losing one of my guinea pigs to illness, I made a visit to an amazing guinea pig rescue group called The Critter Connection in Durham, Connecticut. After choosing an older pig to take home as our own, Merri's foster mom told us about a young pig she had to separate from her piggy mom. Her mom rejected her and little Merri had some battle scars to prove it. The moment our family saw little Merri, it was instant "ahhhhhh..." and we were in love! She was so small and just precious.

Today, Merri happily lives with three other piggy girls and looks like a little football. She is the first on to run to the front of her C&C cage the moment she hears our footsteps. She is affectionate and cuddly, and like most guinea pigs, she loves her fresh fruits and vegetables.

So, from Merri and her family, we wish everyone a MERRY everything!
