Hanna
is a one-year-old Hahn's Macaw. She lives in Lévis (PQ) Canada.
Though mini - the Hahn's Macaws are the smallest species of macaw, she
has all the character of the big macaws. She loves to be pretty. On the
bottom picture, she's wearing her beautiful matching necklace for
Christmas (when was only four months old). She swings it over her head
with her beak and run very fast then stop abruptly to make it roll over
her head and fall on the floor. Then she'll pick it back up, put it over
her head and do it again! I couldn't reclaim my bracelet when it became
such a fun bird toy!
On this top photo, she's wearing her summer hat in February (winter is
long here and I guess it helps her get through it until summer LOL).
After all, her species originates in tropical climates - and Quebec
doesn't exactly qualify as tropical! She's such a funny girl, so cute an
so active.
She is a very playful little girl, always babbling and she already
speaks many real words (in French, as a good Quebecois!). I love her to
pieces, and look forward to years ahead with her, they can live to be 25
or 30 years old!
