was our handsome tortoise shell and white guinea pig, he was seven
or eight when he died, but we don't know his age for sure. My friend Emily
and I rescued Reggie from a garden center. He was living with his two
brothers who bullied him and one day attacked him. His owner was at her
wits' end and so she offered him to us. We obviously accepted and named
him Reg, because it sounded good and besides it was written on the box we
received him in. We didn't even ask our parents first but they didn't
really care, we had two female guinea pigs and a few rabbits already.
Reggie was a very sweet pig, and enjoyed his food, being petted, and romps
outside on the grass - always well-supervised, of course.
During his life Reggie had two girlfriends, April, who died of cancer and
was the same breed as him and Avril, whom we still have who is a
long-haired guinea pig. Reggie actually managed to have babies with Avril.
Reggie's best friend was my mum's rabbit, a butterfly lop-eared rabbit
called Harry. Reggie will be sorely missed but he's with his many girly
guinea pig friends in heaven now. Reggie was the best male guinea pig I've
ever met and was so talkative.
