Let
me introduce you to my Georgie Girl (nickname GG). She's a large
female, ten years old and a big part of our lives. I bought her two years
ago this month and my life has not been the same since. Her previous
owner is Amy Ellis sold her because she felt that GG was not receive the
attention she needed. Amy was not kidding. When I am gone more than
one night she will not talk, sing, whistles or laugh for a few hours.
She'll face the wall while sitting on top of the cage or tree stand.
GG talks, sings, whistles and laughs. She says (in her sexy voice)
"Hi!! How are you? GRRRRR!!!". GG says "What's up!!!!!" then again in a
different tone "Whaaaat's Uppppp!". In the morning when she see you she
says "Well, Good Morning!! It's time to get up!! Get up!!". She'll ask
my friends (and Ernie and Molly, our shih-tzus) "Do you need to go
potty!?!. Come on let's go potty!!". When you walk back in the house
(with or without Ernie and Molly), she'll ask you "Did you go potty!?!
Are you a good girl!?!". She seem to think that everyone should go
outside to potty.
When I cleaning the house or her cage, she says "You're a good girl!!"
or "You're a pretty bird!!" or "Georgie's a goooooood bird!".
Her favorite word is "Whatever!!" If we're talking either on the
phone or in person, she's saying "Hmm!! Hmm!! For Real!?!" or "And
(then)" during your whole conversation.
GG sings "Who Let The Dogs Out" (including the bark); "Jesus Loves Me," and "Hey
There!! Georgie Girl." When she hears music she'll start singing at the
top of her lungs and I don't think she knows what's she's singing. Or
maybe she does.
Georgie Girl knows when it's time to eat she's going to get served and
she'll start saying "HMMMM!! HMMM!! Georgie a good girl!"
Georgie Girl has brought us pure joy and we have been blessed to have
her in our family these past two years. We hope to have her for the next
30 to 40 years as parrots have a life expectancy of 20 to 50 years.
We're looking forward to getting GG a cage mate this summer. Oh Boy!!
We can not wait to see what she teaches him.
