Our
guinea pig, Ying Yang, died this year on Groundhog Day because of a
tumor on his left cheek. We got him for Christmas when my sister was five
years old. She is now ten. He was named Ying Yang because one side of his
body had dark skin (not fur, his fur was all white) and the other side
was light. He was a very bright little thing. He learned how to climb
out of his cage all by himself and through a science experiment for
school, we discovered he was capable of counting. He was always happy
"popcorning" and running around the house. He made a hole in the bottom
of our couch and hid inside there. It was so annoying trying to get him
out all the time!
He was always purring and sometimes he would just come by to say hello
to you. We all loved our pig, even our dog, who tried to pet him many
times and almost squished him with her paw by accident. Our pig didn't
like her very much. Once she licked his open mouth and he had the most
disgusted look on his face. It was quite hilarious. His favorite lettuce
was endive.
We will miss our sweet Piggy Ying Yang.
