Ornery
(Little O) is my little clown. He has an Congo African Grey
brother, Rascal, and a Timneh African Grey sister, Lucy. Ornery is
much smaller than them, but he sure packs a lot of punch. You never
know what he is going to do. In this photo we had just finished eating
breakfast and Ornery found a pen on the table. He grabbed the pen and
immediately flipped over on his back so he could chew on it more easily.
He already says some words-"hello", "good boy" and he is working on "I
love you." Ornery certainly lives up to his name and he seems to know
when he is pushing it because one of us will say his name and he will
say "good boy, good boy." He also knows how to get what he wants. If
he isn't getting the attention he deserves he will do his conure scream
until someone comes over to take him with them for a while.
My beloved quaker Kiwi was killed the beginning of September 2005 and I
was heart broken. Ornery has been very good therapy for me since
getting him a few weeks before Christmas that year. Ornery has a
personality similar to Kiwi and has been a joy.
