About Us
Emilly, the Pet of the Day
Name: Emilly
Age: Three years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Guinea Pig
Home: Ithaca, New York, USA
We got Emilly from a pet store at our local shopping mall. She was the only guinea pig left in the store. No one had bought her, most likely because of her crippled paw - our vet suspects that her right forepaw was broken when Em was a baby, and because nobody took care of her injury, the paw healed at an awkward angle. We couldn't care less. The only thing Emilly can't do as well as our other three guinea pigs is climb out of her cage. Anyone who walked into that pet store looking for a guinea pig and chose another one over Emilly because of her paw really missed out.

Emilly is a social little guinea pig, and loves being held and cuddled by her human family members and she sure is cuddly! The only thing she likes better than being the center of attention is a nice, big pile of fresh romaine lettuce or dandelion leaves. So what if she can't run very fast because of her paw? Emilly is an important, furry, pumpkin-colored addition to our family, and we love her to pieces.
