Ozzy, the Pet of the Day
Name: Ozzy
Age: Deceased, Four months old
Gender: Male
Kind: Abyssinian, Guinea Pig
Home: Charleston, South Carolina, USA

Ozzy was a wonderful, sweet guinea pig with a load of curiosity. I first begged my mom for a guinea pig, but she was definitely not so happy with this idea...so she said no way. Well, after a few bribes, I got her to finally agree on a deal, if I make "Head Master's List" (school--all a's and 1 or 2 b's) I could get a guinea pig. Well, after, that quarter of studying hard and good grades, I came home with HML! So, on my birthday (about two weeks later) I went to the pet store, and came home with one very special guinea pig - Ozzy.

Ozzy was a very curious guinea pig, and loved his igloo that we put inside his cage. He loved carrots and timothy hay. I only had him for about a few weeks, but it seems like forever! Ozzy was so sweet, especially when I was holding him. He loved to chew on things like wood and my shag rug, and my carpet, silly Ozzy!!

I never had any type of "small animal" like this before, and never thought I would, but there I was with a little cage in my room and little fuzzy pig! My mom used to not like guinea pigs, but after we got Ozzy, she actually loved him!

Since he was an Abyssinian, he had a numerous amount of "rosettes", or swirls of hair, on him. He had cute little natural mohawk, which is why we named him Ozzy, because it sounded like a crazy name for crazy pig!! I loved him so much, and hoped to have him for a very long time.

Sadly Ozzy died one day quite suddenly. It was very unexpected and it was untreatable. I came home, popped off his igloo because he hadn't come out to greet me, and there he was lying on his side. It was pneumonia and doctors say it is almost always fatal, and they were unable to treat him. I am still not sure now if I will get another piggie, we loved him so much.
