Sherman
is a Timneh African Grey. She is such a sweetheart. Yes, I said
she. When Sherman was a baby we thought she was a boy. She was bigger
and the leader to her clutch mates. She would push her way through the
other babies like she was a little tank. Sooo, I named her Sherman.
After her well birdie check up and sexing, we found out that Sherman was
a girl. But, she already new her name and it fit her personality, so we
kept it. Sometimes I call her Shermi, for short. That sounds a little
more girlie.
Sherman loves to be anywhere I am. She loves her play gym with is in my
computer room. She will play for hours and loves to hang upside down and
"fight" with her toys. It's funny to hear her growl and chatter at the
toys while she beats them up. We spend a lot of time together, sharing
snacks and just hanging out.
Sherman is starting to talk. She says "Pretty Girl," "What cha
doin," and "Hi Buddy," and is trying to say other things, but only when
she thinks she's alone. She likes to practice her words first before
will say them in front of me. One day I was putting her back in her cage
because I had to leave for work and as I sat her on the perch she
blurted out... "Don't put me away!"
No matter how hard my day is, Sherman always puts a smile on my face. I
love her with all my heart. She's a great pet and one of my best
friends.
Miss Sherman adds "I'm sure glad you finally figured out I'm a girl!
Now treat me like the Princess I am! Get me an Avi Cake ... Pronto!"
