George W. Bunny, the Pet of the Day
Name: George W. Bunny
Age: Five and a half years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Mini Rex Rabbit
Home: Oak Park, Michigan, USA

George is a very affectionate bunny and likes to always be around people, or his best buddy, Middy rabbit. George has had a few homes, one of them was the school library. But the librarian needed to find him a better home so he would be allowed to run around more, that's when we adopted him. We've had him for almost two years and he is our favorite pet. Being a Mini-Rex, his coat is velvety soft, which definitely helps to get him a lot of petting and hugs. George is litter-box trained, and lives in the house during the cold Michigan winters, and gets to go outdoors when the weather warms up. He always gets excited when he sees one of the family, and tries to get our attention by standing up on his hind legs, or by nibbling on his cage, knowing that a nice piece of lettuce, or a good scratch on the head is on the way. His favorite foods are baby carrots that we grow in the garden, and Romaine lettuce. Occasionally, he likes to carry around a clump of his hay in his mouth. He will come if you call his name, but sometimes he'll tease you by coming up to you, and then instantly running off again. Along with his favorite toy, a miniature toy stroller that he likes to pick up and flip around, he enjoys doing the same with a set of keys since they make a lot of noise and create more of a ruckus. He loves to play with his good friend Middy, who is a male Holland Lop. They like to take a nap together in the sun and will clean and preen each other's coats.
