My
pet's name is Stiehl's Handsome Dude, but we call him Dude for short.
He is an eight-year-old, 29-inch tall American Miniature Horse.
Dude has a stall that is actually attached to our house and has the
whole back yard to himself. He is so cute, he has the biggest eyes and
prettiest face you've ever seen on a Mini. Every time we open the back
door he whinnies at us, especially if it is close to breakfast or dinner
time. When I got Dude he was a little stand off-ish, but it didn't take
him long to warm up to us. Our friends' children love feeding him carrots.
Dude and I go for walks down the road and through our local park almost
every day. People always smile when the realize it's not a dog I'm
walking, but a little tiny horse! I've had lots of children and adults
stop and ask if they can pet him. And I even had one couple stop their
van because they wanted their dog to meet him. Whenever I am blue, I
simply take Dude for a walk and I get lots and lots of wonderful smiles.
That always brightens my day. But Dude's absolute favorite pastime
is to get brushed. Little horsies get itchy under all that winter hair!
