Nanny, the Pet of the Day
Name: Nanny
Age: One year old
Gender: Female
Kind: Nubian Goat
Home: Orange County, New York, USA

What makes Nanny special is that she does not know that she is a goat. Nanny thinks she is a lap dog. If you don't take time to stop what you are doing and pet her, she will stand in your way so you can't walk past her and if you are sitting down she will try to get on your lap. Nanny will follow you all over and stay with you like a dog. Nanny will also do a trick- she will speak on command.

Nanny is our second of three goats. Nanny was born by surprise on a friend's farm, he was not interested in raising baby goats and was going to sell her at a farmer's market, but I decided to take her instead. We like this picture as you can see the pretty markings on her ears, and her forehead star.

Nanny is very affectionate she will put her head right against you and push you until you stop to pet her, when she was younger she would stand up on her hind legs and put her hooves right on your chest to get you to pet her. She is strictly an outside or barn girl, and shares her house with her cousin and a pygmy goat that we own. Nanny will speak if you call her name and will answer you with various bleats when you talk to her.
