I
am an owner of seven snakes and Fluffy is my newest, but she quickly
became my favorite. I know a lot of people don't consider snakes to be
"true" pets like a dog or a cat, but Fluffy has convinced me otherwise.
Often as soon as I walk in to the room she will crawl over to the front
of the aquarium to check me out. When I reach in to grab her she doesn't
even flinch. Many tame snakes will flinch or hesitate when you go to
pick them up but not Fluffy. She seems to readily take to strangers too,
and loves attention.
She is very curious and seems to have great eyesight. When I first got
her I lived in a loft and she would always raise her head straight up
and look upstairs when I'd take her out. I can set her down in the
middle of the living room and sometimes she will crawl over to the couch
and climb up on me. Once I fell asleep on the couch for over an hour and
when I woke up she was still sitting there with her head up on my lap. I
feel bad for people who are prejudiced against snakes. They don't know
what they're missing... she's a very gentle pet.
