||One years old|
||Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada|
got Max when he was weaned at three months old. I had bought him
from a breeder in Ontario and had him flown in. He was very shy when I
got him. It took a few months for him to really warm up to me. He has
turned out to be a very sweet, gentle bird. My children have flown the
coop, so Max has been a great companion, filling up my time with
enjoyment and laughter. Even my husband loves him.
Max is there to greet us when we come through the door. Asking us
"what are you doing" "hello baby", "how are you". He really talks up a
storm, surprising me every day with new phrases like "wanna peanut",
wanna come out" "give me a kiss". He even coughs like me.
Max loves to have a shower. He will sit contently on a perch on the
coffee table and play with his basket of little toys while I watch
T.V. He is very quiet for a big bird. Max doesn't really know any
tricks yet, but we are working on it. He plays happily with his toys
in his cage, hanging upside down, chewing toys and swinging by the
ropes. Max never bothers anybody, he is so content, entertaining
himself or having a conversation with me while I work in the kitchen.
I have many birds, but he is the best friend ever. I look forward to
many happy years with my Max.
