Astro
is very special because although he has a timid nature, he was
always able to brighten people's days at the Humane Society, where I
adopted him, and still does today, at my home. I don't know how he does
it, but each and every time I am about to put him in his cage, he just
looks up at me with his big beady eyes, and I immediately want to play
with him just a little while longer.
Another one of the numerous ways that Astro is special is that Astro
serves as the mascot for the "Say NO To Animal Cruelty Campaign" which
I organized. Astro has already made many people say no to animal
cruelty, just by people looking at him... I guess they realize that
animals just like Astro get tested on, and mistreated everyday.
One thing that most people find astonishing when they find out is that
Astro's name was "Stinky" when I adopted him. I couldn't believe that a
hamster so cute could have such a, well, such a stinky name!
Astro loves to run around on his running wheel, but often can't, because
of his long fur! I sometimes have to trim back his fur a little bit
before he can get off of his wheel, because his long fur gets tightly
wound around the middle of the wheel. His favorite foods are kiwi
fruit, and cucumber. He also really likes those little brown vitamin
cubes. Astro also really loves me, and everyone else the he meets!
