About Us
Pica, the Pet of the Day
Name: Pica
Age: Three years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Blue and Gold Macaw
Home: Green, Ohio, USA
My name is Pica and my mom adopted me from someone who couldn't give me the attention I needed. Since I came to live with my mom she tells me every day that this is my forever home. I let her give me kisses on my head and beak and I love to take showers. My favorite thing to do is sit on my mom's lap while she watches TV. I love bananas and peanuts. I am very sweet even though I scream sometimes. Mom is very patient with me and just tells me I'm acting goofy.

This is my macaw Pica. I adopted her in September of '03 from a man who could no longer care for her. She loves to lay on top of her cage and play with her plastic chain that hangs from her ladder. She is such a clown!

Twice a day she screams really loud. It's her way of saying "good morning" and "nite nite." She loves to go for walks in the yard and visit our pond that is stocked with Japanese Koi fish. Whenever she sees the brightly colored fish swim up to us, she loudly proclaims "Wow!" She loves to pick people's shirt pockets while they're holding her. What a sweetie Pica is!
