Geico
is a very special Gecko. When I was a freshman in high school my
teacher had Geico as a class pet. She got her from her brother but
didn't like the job of feeding her pinkies so she asked her students if
anyone would like to keep her. You needed written permission from a
parent so I went home to try to convince my parents to let me have her.
Earlier that year my friend gave me a baby guinea pig and my mom didn't
think that I needed another pet, but somehow she ended up giving me
permission but I had to share the duties with my twin brother. Big deal,
so the next day when I asked my teacher if I could have her, she was very
surprised that I actually got permission. She was very glad and drove
her to my house after school.
Geico was very shy at first and would hide a lot but soon she was coming
out and she even lets us hold her! Tokays are usually not very friendly,
and she has tried to bite us a few times. She has gotten out of her
cage before, but we just left the cage open with her heat lamp on and
she always came back, she sure is a different pet!
