may be little, but she really rules our two piebald cobs. She is
the eldest and knows all the tricks like opening her stable door when
it's not been done up right! When they are fed in the field, then she
likes to play tug-o-war with the feed bucket. My mum says it's just as
well they are made from recycled tyres! Hers is the one we always find
in the burn (a scottish word for stream).
She is a quarter New Forest pony so she is a good doer. It means she
doesn't need a lot of hard feed and stuff, but she will defend her
bucket if our six-year-old cob tries to steal her dinner from her. She
doesn't like cuddles but she will let you stroke her.
The first time I got on Megan she bucked me off! I'd been riding my mums
15.2hh cob and he's a real sweetie, Meg is a fireball on four legs! I got
back on her and we rode out in the field. She's given me the confidence
to jump small jumps and we went in the local pony show last summer and I
got a special award.
I love her very much and I'm the only one she will come to when we go to
collect them to bring them in. She likes the snow and acts like she has
to go through it on tippy toe, but then you turn round and she's doing
circuits sending the stuff flying everywhere!
I am eight years old and Megan and I are partners. Mum says there will come
a time when I will be too big to ride her but I hope that's not for a
very long time.
