I
found Kahil at a reptile expo last August. A friend of mine directed
me to the table of the person selling him. The current owner explained
how he rescued him from a pet store that was not taking care of him
properly. The pet store owners realized they were not equipped to care
for this type of reptile when they discovered that he was not eating and
was covered in mites! Therefore, they relinquished him to the kind man
who took the time to deworm him, get rid of the mites, and get him eating.
Green tree pythons (scientific name Aru Chondro) are very hard to keep
in captivity because of their humidity requirements and their naturally
aggressive behavior. Kahil is special to me because he is the only
Green Tree Python that I can hold and play with! I own many snakes, but
he is by far my favorite. He is not just another pretty face.
