came to me in a very special way. I got to like rats from my
7th grade science teacher who has a classroom rat who I like to call
Vanilla's cousin, Snoopy. One day, my teacher advertised free rats. I
told my parents, who after I did well on four essays, got me a nice cage
and we went to get Vanilla.
Vanilla is my companion. When I come home from school and I go to my
room, she is normally there in her cage, looking out from the door with
her little nose in the lock. When I take her out to play on my bed or a
couch she normally runs like a little rat she is. She loves to sit on
your shoulder all day, but sometimes she gets board up there. Vanilla
thinks she is a person, always listening to people and the television.
When she is tired after all the play, she sometimes will fall sleep on
your lap all cuddled up with you. Vanilla is the best rodent you could
ever get. I love her lots.
