Sam, the Pet of the Day
Name: Sam
Age: Fifteen months old
Gender: Male
Kind: Veiled Chameleon
Home: Speculator, New York, USA
Sam is very special to me because I bought him when he was only a month old. He became very sick for a couple months but pulled through I would say he is a very lucky little boy to have survived being so ill. He is very strong and all grown up now. He is a beautiful animal and I hope he stays with me for a very long time.

Sam is an independent lizard. The last thing he likes is to be held and loved. Whenever I talk to him he will stare me down and squint his eyes until they are almost closed. It's the funniest thing I have ever seen. He is however very friendly when it comes to feeding time. He likes to shoot his 7 inch tongue out of his mouth and grab meal worms from my hand. He really enjoys it so much that he would eat till he was sick. Sam's favorite things to do are hide under my bed, bask outside in the sun when its 90 degrees out, hang from his tail when he eats his crickets, and try to court my female water dragon. He doesn't realize that she doesn't really care for him too much. Over all, Sam is just very special to me because he is unique. Even though he isn't cuddly and furry, he does have a personality that I can relate with. He's fun to watch, and occasionally he does like his cheeks rubbed. I've had him since he was a baby so he is like a child to me.
