Kind: Black Bear Hamster
Home: California, USA

Penne is actually short for Penelope whom I named after the Warner Bro's character, Pepe le Pew's main love interest. Sadly, Penne passed away not long ago because she got really sick very suddenly and had breathing problems. She was my first hamster and at first I wasn't too sure about having one, but I never realized how attached I would become to her. She was and still is very special to me and I will truly miss everything about her - even the way she smelled!

She loved to crawl up the side of my pants and always wanted to be where all the people were. She loved attention and was always trying to bite through the metal bars on her cage to escape. It made a horrible grinding sound but even that I will miss. I only wish that I could have more time to spend with her but I will never forget her adorable little face or the time she snuck into my backpack and stuffed her cheeks full of graham crackers. She can never be replaced since she truly was unique and beautiful to me. She loved to be held and seemed to always want to climb as high as she could so she could be at the same eye level as everyone else and see what we were seeing. Even though my Pomeranian always barked at her through the cage, she was never afraid and just went along her business as though she couldn't even see him. She was so brave! Although she was only with me a short time she has definitely made a huge impact on me and I will always remember my darling little Penne.
