I
would like to introduce you to my ferret Woo. He is one of the
sweetest souls to grace this fine Earth and I'm reminded of the good in
the world when I look into his soft brown eyes. Woo is special in so
many different ways, but I would like to share with you why he is
special enough to be honored.
About two weeks ago Woo started to lose his hair between his shoulder
blades and on his chest. At first we thought it was irritation from
where the other ferrets nipped at him in play, but it soon got worse.
Yesterday we took Woo to our vet and he was diagnosed with adrenal gland
disease. Surgery is not an option for my poor fuzzy, but I understand
there are alternatives, which we're looking in to.
For now, Woo's being the little trooper he is, he plays all day, and
sleeps all night, then does it all again. Sometimes he'll fall down in
the middle of playing and give me a scare, but he always gets up again,
looks about as if to say, "Why is everyone looking at me? Let's play!"
And that is the spirit of my fuzzy friend. The one whom I love so much.
That's Woo!
