Now
Timmie is loud, outgoing, even demanding, but he wasn't always that
way. I adopted him from the Rohnert Park Animal Shelter, where he had
lived for many months. He was given up by his owners when he was only
ten weeks old. At first he was very shy and nervous. He was so quiet
that I gave him the middle name "Bartleby" after the Herman Melville
short story.
Eventually, Timmie came out of his "shell." He became more trusting, and
will now "wheek" at the top of his lungs for treats (he loves his
veggies), timothy hay, or petting. He sits on my lap and watches TV with
me, and he seems to like it when I read the T.S. Eliot poem "The Love
Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" to him. He's one special piggie!
