We
found Padda in February 2002 after he had been injured. He received a
nasty blow to his left side and therefore could not use his left foot or
his left wing and he kept his left eye shut tight. I kept him in a small
cage in a dark closet for two weeks and in all of that time he did not
move around once. I basically kept him alive by feeding him peaches and
bananas. After two weeks he slowly started to move around in the cage.
It took another two weeks for him to start eating by himself and by that
time his leg and wing had completely healed. Unfortunately he is now
blind in his left eye, but that does not seem to bother him. He flies
around in my aviary, even though he does not always land where he
intended to!
Padda has an amazing little personality, he is so sweet and adorable. I
am so glad I was able to give him a second chance. We share a very
special bond. I suppose he knows I was trying to help him and therefore
he trusts me completely. He would sit on my shoulder all day long if I
let him. He definitely has a mind of his own and wants to do things his
way or not at all.
