Nabisco
the cockatiel was brought into my life when I was ten years old.
(Obviously I was a chubby child to have given her such a name.) She
was only six weeks old at the time, and I got to hand feed her, and in a
real sense became "Mommy" to her. After four wonderful years together,
I decided to find a friend for my little girl.
I found Chaquita (when he was three months old) at a wonderful pet store,
and he instantly fell in love with Nabisco. Nabisco was unsure of her
little suitor for many months, but has come to love the little bird who
follows her around like a puppy!
Nabisco and Chaquita spend most of their time playing on their huge gym,
which resides atop their huge cage full of toys. (Their favorite things
to play with are Q-tips rather than their expensive toys...) They are
content to spend time with each other (Chaquita especially enjoys it!)
or to spend time with me, cuddling under my chin getting massages and
kisses. They are both incredibly affectionate, and love me as much as I
love them! Their favorite food in the world is popcorn, although I make
them eat a healthy diet of Lafebers pellets, rainbow Zupreem pellets,
organic exact pellets, and veggies!
