I
want to share Mr. Piggy with you. He is gone now but he truly was a
super pig. He could be counted on for a resounding "Rhee" when the
fridge door was opened or when I got home and dropped my keys on the
counter. He had mastered his one trick. When you squeaked your lips he
would sit up tall and beg. He would get upset if his reward treat
didn't show up immediately after. He was also easily excited, saying
"Piggeee" loudly would get him running around his box chirping and
Rheeing. Mr. Piggy was too dignified to live in a cage. His world was
two Rubbermaid storage bins pushed side-by-side. He could jump from
side to side with amazing speed and agility, but he never jumped out.
He would run over and lean on the edge to visit and see what food I had
brought. He especially liked cantaloupe and also enjoyed having his nose
brushed with a toothbrush. At times he could be something of a ham,
but over all he was a gentle and kind little guy. I would recommend a
pig for anyone looking for a fun, low maintenance pet. He has been
deceased for ten years now, but never ever forgotten.
