Ariel
is special in a lot of ways. I met Ariel about six and a half
years ago. My husband (at the time my boyfriend) told me to go to the
pet store and pick out a guinea pig for my Easter present. I picked her
out. I named her Ariel because it made me think of Ariel on the little
mermaid. Little did I know how much this small animal would impact my
life. Ariel has been more to me than just a pet - she has been a
companion and a friend.
About two years after I got Ariel, I decided that I was going to get
ariel a mate to mate with her so she could have some little Ariel's.
Well, when he wanted to mate with her but she didn't, so they started
fighting. I reached down to get Ariel out of harm's way and the other
guinea pig bit me. Needless to say, Ariel got away with a bloody lip and
I got away with about three or four stitches. I took him back to the pet
shop so he could find a better home - one with no bloodshed involved.
As I look at Ariel, each and every day her health is declining. She has
gained so much weight in her old age. I hate for anything to happen to
her but I know in time it will and at least I got seven years + with
her. That's why I think that Ariel should be honored because in my eyes
she is the pet of a lifetime!!
