Syd
is a very spunky young Iguana. She came into our care in February
and has been learning to live with us ever since. She lives in a large
home built enclosure and she spends most of her time basking under her
heat and uvb lights. She loves to eat greens like collards, escarole,
and mustard greens, garnished with mashed peas, beans, squash and
parsnips. Her favorite treats are cooked pasta, mango and papaya, but
she turns her nose at strawberries and bananas. Syd came from a place
where she was fed crickets, so she's lucky now to have a clean bill of
health from her vet. She's a rebellious little girl with an attitude,
and isn't afraid to bite when she's upset. Although she is pan-trained
to use newspaper, her favorite way to express her dissent is to go to
the bathroom on us. She has fun exploring our apartment when she's
allowed, too. We love watching her grow and change, and it's amazing how
much knowledge we've acquired online about this awesome creature since
taking her in.
