Kiki
is an Alexandrine Parakeet. He is a very energetic, and intelligent
friend. Alexandrines are not your typical parrot, they have very active
minds, and are very hard to keep entertained. I love my bird so much, I
can't put him into words! He is my first bird except for the common
budgie parakeet. I adopted him from friends that thought he would be a
quiet, beautiful, docile bird. I will never regret the adoption, he is
my best buddy and we get along great. My wife is pictured here, with
bird in full flight! Isn't he beautiful!!!
Kiki is pretty much the independent type. He greets me with loud screams
when I get home. He seems very happy to see me. He loves to fly, and has
the run of the house for a few hours each day. It's almost like having a
child, you have to watch them so they don't get into trouble.
His favorite toy now is Lego blocks. I make up a small structure, and he
takes it apart. His mind is very active and he loves new things to
destroy. He has a definite need to chew. He kind of dances all around in
the home when he wants out. Quite a show. He can ring like a telephone,
makes beeps just like the microwave, and has copied my Nextel "beeps"
perfectly. I go looking for my phone, and it's him! He is very
affectionate to me and my wife, doesn't warm up to visitors much at all.
He bathes at least once daily. I could go on and on about him, he is
just a really neat bird.
