We
never knew what some consider a meal could be so much fun as
a pet. Crusty came from a pet store when he was barely a couple of
inches long. The first time he moulted, his exoskeleton looked like a
dead crawdad! Imagine our surprise (and relief) when he came out of his
rock castle the next day! Crusty loves freeze dried tubefex worms and
will become very active, begging for his dinner. He gently takes the
food from my hand. Sometimes he eats on his back, which always worries
me because I am afraid he might be ill. He always perks up when given a
nudge. He also likes to rearrange the rocks and pebbles in the
viquarium. He grew too big for his rock castle so he pushed it a couple
of inches away from the glass. Crusty lives in harmony with a few dozen
guppies that keep multiplying. We really do enjoy watching and
interacting with Crusty the Crawdad.
