Mr. Bojangles, the Pet of the Day
Name: Mr. Bojangles
Age: One year old
Gender: Male
Kind: Dumbo Rat
Home: Byron, Minnesota, USA

Mr. Bojangles was originally a lab rat who learned to run through an obstacle course in a zoology class. What a smart rat!! He learned how to run down a corridor, squeeze through a hole, tip a teeter-totter down, jump over a water trap, thread his way through a maze, climb up a ladder, and choose the correct door out of three doors. In the end, he could do all of this in less than a minute! After teaching Mr. Bojangles, I take offense any time I hear about rats not being intelligent. They are the most intelligent out of any of the rodents commonly sold as pets! Mr. Bojangles loves to ride around the house on everyone's shoulder, with his tail wrapped around their neck for balance. If something scares him, he hides under that person's hair and peeks out. After being a lab rat for awhile, Mr. Bojangles was lucky enough to retire to duty as a stud rat. He has a wonderful ratty-wife, and they've had a lot of babies together.
