Lucy
is a red-sided eclectus. I live with her in her home in
Poughkeepsie. Lucy is one of the smartest birds I have ever had the
pleasure of being owned by. I truly believe she has a bond and is in
touch with my mental health. It seems on days that have been extremely
difficult at work, she wants to cuddle give kisses and play gently. On
other days when the day had no challenges she tends to be a bit more
feisty, which I love. We wrestle for a long portion of the time we spend
together. She also seems to have picked up a great sense of humor, she
will do something that she knows annoys me and then laugh a hardy laugh.
When she does this I just can't do anything but have a hardy laugh with
her. Let's not forget what a prima dona she is. When she eats while I am
present, she waits for me to wipe her beak with a cloth napkin. She will
not accept paper mind you. I also love the fact that she sings happy
birthday to me every day!
