There
is nothing better than waking up to Peep crowing. He is so
comical, no matter what I always get a good chuckle out of his antics.
If all else fails he'll chase the kids around the yard a couple of times
after they have irritated him. (No, he has never even put a scratch on
them its all in fun.) Peep is a good watchdog, if you're a first-time
visitor he'll puff up, spread his wings, and dance around trying to
scare you away. I got him a couple of hens to protect so he wouldn't
get lonely and he does an excellent job keeping his girls safe.
At heart, though, he's still the little day-old chick I brought home a
year ago, and loves being scratched under his wing and fed cookie
crumbs. I wouldn't trade Peep for anything, he's a well loved member of
our family.
