This
is Boo, our white-eyed conure. Boo is a very special little guy.
One weekend my husband and I first saw Boo at Bill's Bird Boutique in
Davie, Florida. He was caged with several Quakers he'd been hatched
with, and considered his flock. Unlike the Quakers, Boo sat on his
perch, silent and unruffled even when active Quakers flew into him and
shoved him aside. I knew from the moment our eyes met that this was the
one bird, the only bird for me.
Boo seldom squawks but does say single words at times and speaks baby
talk. He's hand-shy but ventures to preen my hair and will take food
from my hand. It takes time to build trust. He is very special and we
look forward to happy years ahead with him.
