Yellow Fischer's Lovebird

This
is my little lovebird and she's been with me now for about six
months. When I went to the pet store (which I now work at) I was shown
four baby Fischer's Lovebirds in a little cage (for quarantine) and she
was the only yellow one out of the whole clutch. I put my hand in to see
them and she was the only one that didn't run away from it and when I
picked her up she fell asleep in my hand. I knew right then and there
that I had to have this little bird. I went back several times in the
next week and just couldn't leave her there, so she came home to join
the rest of out pet family.
She's such a bundle of joy to have around the house. She doesn't talk,
but from the sounds that she's starting to make I think she may say a
couple words eventually, but I'm just happy to have her. She'll go to
anyone, but she always knows when I call to her. When I say "what cha
doin'?" she'll start doing flips around her cement perch. She's
semi-potty trained so that as soon as I take her out I hold her over her
cage and she does her business and she does try to back up to the edge
when she's on me, but she's still learning :)
She chases my two cats (Furfur and Wellington) around the house and is
quite friendly to our other birds (Whimsey the Senegal and Brutus the
Grey-cheek Parakeet). She also likes to sit on Weensie the mouses cage
and watch her run around on her wheel as well as running around on her
own wheel.
She's such a special part of my life and I hope for her to be around
for a long, long time.
