Spike, the Pet of the Day
Name: Spike
Age: One year old
Gender: Male
Kind: Green Iguana
Home: Northern Minnesota, USA

Spike is a special iguana. Adopted after being neglected by his previous owner, Spike has grown fittingly into our family. Defying the knowledge of certain iguana literature, Spike is domesticated far beyond the common realm of accepted theory. Spike will go as far as to sleep on your head as you engage in washing the dishes, and eat live food from your hands. In my experiences, he is more ardent towards human contact than many domestic cats. It is a drop-of-a-hat activity to lift him swiftly from the aquarium he resides in, and pet him as if he was a kitten. He loves it! Some of Spike's favorite activities include being sprayed with water, eating insects, and sleeping on your shoulder.
