This
is Birdy, the English Budgie. Yeah, I know, Bird is not that
original but he named himself! You see, I named him Pebbles and
what did my dad do? He said "Hey, bird" and so from then on, my budgie
started saying "Hey, Birdy Birdy!" "Good Birdy bird" "I love you,
Birdy!" and even "good Bird!" and "Bad Birdy!" He's a hoot! He turned
four years old on February 7, and he's the same baby he's always been.
Me and my lil' baby and his "brother" Aesop (a blue berkshire rat) live
here in Bucksport, Maine.
Birdy's independent and affectionate at the same time. He's not really
the "trick" type, because I seriously think he thinks he's a human and
not a bird after all! He never stays in his cage with the top on.
Instead we keep the cage on the floor, right next to the couch, with the
top off so he can go in and out whenever he wants. Personally, though I
love Birdy, I think Birdy's in love with my scooter (and everything else shiny)!
