Here's
my darling pet snake, Sheikh Yerbouti. She's a Carolina corn
snake (elaphe guttata guttata). She resides in Oakland, California with
her two adoring human parents. Sheikh is the sweetest, most gentle pet a
human could hope for. She enjoys all kinds of handling and cuddling and
loves to climb, head first, down furniture to explore the carpet. In the
morning, she watches me ride on my exercise bike, although she can't
understand why I'd want to pedal and pedal and get nowhere. In this
picture, she's searching for treats inside the Jack O' Lantern. Happy Halloween!
